This piece is called Coatlicue. It was taken in 2021 in Nayarit, Mexico.
Coatlicue is the Aztec Goddess of life, death, and rebirth. That theme seemed relevant when I started planning this photoshoot. Where I live, on the Pacific coastline of Mexico, we have two seasons: dry and wet. Each July the rains stop, the vegetation dries up and the birds migrate away. The jungle becomes eerily quiet. In time though, the rains return and the jungle is reborn. Green shoots uncoil and reach upwards. Within a week the jungle is lush and green again. The air heavy with birdsong. It’s beautiful to see.
This is one of my most popular Aztec cultural prints and is part of my Aztec wall art series. This s an open edition print.

Over the years, many of the Aztec models I work with have become good friends. We often create the concepts together, basing them on Mexican myths and fokloric tales.
I pay each model for their time on the photoshoot as well as a percentage of every sale.

Yes, I shoot with a high-end professional Canon 5D4 camera. My images can be printed much larger if needed with no significant loss of resolution.
I work with an amazing Fine Art Printer in the US. They use a process similar to the classic darkroom method called Chromogenic printing. This is my preferred printing method as it gives the images a richness and depth that suits my style of photography. All my work is printed on premium Fuji Lustre paper, or 100% cotton canvas, and is guaranteed to not fade for over 75 years. Please note that this listing is for the print only, it does not include the frame.
Many of my images are inspired by myths and folkloric stories from Mexico’s rich cultural heritage. From the Mexica myth of Popocatepetl & Iztaccihuatl to the Legend of the Charro Negro.

Yes, but I actually suggest you just purchase the print and frame it locally. Sending a framed print increased the chance of your order being damaged during delivery. I suggest you puerchase the print and get it framed locally.
A limited-edition print is a constrained run edition. This means that an edition limited to 10 copies will end its run after the 10th photo is sold. Limited editions are an investment and are popular with art collectors.

I took my time looking into artists for our purchase. With the cultural appropriation movement so present the last thing I wanted my ignorant butt to do was buy something that I was unaware of it’s offensiveness. However, JP is the real deal! the quality of these photo prints are absolutely fantastic. The way he packages them are completely secure. He really spares no expense to ensure the quality of not just the product but of the experience as well. Thanks again JP!

Delivery was very fast and liked that he ordered from a reputable print house. Although this item was not on the sellers site, he quickly added the item I requested in the medium asked for. I have this in my office and people keep stopping by to admire the piece.

I have now 2 pictures from JP. Seeing this picture online does absolutely no justice. You have to see it in person to see just how gorgeous, and flawless this picture is. And the culture behind it just adds that much more to it.
