Mexican Aztec Warrior Art. Mexico Art Print. Aztec Decor Tribal Art. Photography Print. Mexico Culture Art. Mexica Wall Art

$1,525.00$4,574.00

This piece is called Opochtli. It was taken in Nayarit, Mexico, in early 2021.

Opochtli is the Mexica (Aztec) God of Hunting. We decorated a beautiful piece of mango wood with pheasant feathers to use as a spear for this concept.

The model in this photo is my friend Tekie Temazkalli, a Mexica (aka Aztec) dancer who traces his origins to the indigenous Huichol and Chichimeca cultures. We worked together to create this Aztec Warrior concept.

This Aztec cultural print is part of my Aztec Warrior wall art series.

Take a peek behind the scenes…

Over the years, many of the Aztec models I work with have become good friends. We often create the concepts together, basing them on Mexican myths and fokloric tales.

I pay each model for their time on the photoshoot as well as a percentage of every sale.

All your questions answered

Can I cancel an order?

Yes, you can cancel an order within 1 hour of it being placed. To cancel an order, please use the Contact page. After 1 hour, I will start the printing process and the order can no longer be canceled.

What is your Return Policy?

I only accept returns if the item is damaged in transit. If it is, I will resend the item at no extra cost. Please inspect your order upon reception and contact me immediately if the item is damaged, or if you receive the wrong item so that I can evaluate the issue and rectify it as soon as possible.

I do not accept refunds and exchanges are only possible if I sent out the wrong product initially.

How long will it take to receive my order?

I typically print and ship within 48 hours. In busy periods, or for limited edition prints, it can take me up to 5 business days to ship an item.

US orders are then sent via FedEx and take between 4 – 6 days to arrive. Canadian orders take up to 8 days. International orders vary depending on the destination.

Are the images high-resolution?

Yes, I shoot with a high-end professional Canon 5D4 camera. My images can be printed much larger if needed with no significant loss of resolution.

Are the prints guaranteed to not fade over time?

I work with an amazing Fine Art Printer in the US. They use a process similar to the classic darkroom method called Chromogenic printing. This is my preferred printing method as it gives the images a richness and depth that suits my style of photography. All my work is printed on premium Fuji Lustre paper, or 100% cotton canvas, and is guaranteed to not fade for over 75 years. Please note that this listing is for the print only, it does not include the frame.

Where do the ideas for your photos come from?

Many of my images are inspired by myths and folkloric stories from Mexico’s rich cultural heritage. From the Mexica myth of Popocatepetl & Iztaccihuatl to the Legend of the Charro Negro.

How are the models paid?

Over the years, many of the models I work with have become good friends. Each photoshoot is a creative collaboration. I pay each model for their time on the photoshoot and I also pay them a percentage of every print sold.

Can I buy a framed print from you?

Yes, but I actually suggest you just purchase the print and frame it locally. Sending a framed print increased the chance of your order being damaged during delivery. I suggest you puerchase the print and get it framed locally.

What is a Limited Edition print?

A limited-edition print is a constrained run edition. This means that an edition limited to 10 copies will end its run after the 10th photo is sold. Limited editions are an investment and are popular with art collectors.

How can I find out more about this project?

You can follow me on Instagram or my blog where I post behind-the-scenes footage from my photoshoots.
